Actor Riaz in the role of Tajuddin, Ferdous has been left out. The shooting of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s biographical film ‘Bangabandhu’ is going on in Mumbai. Actor Ferdous was supposed to play the role of Tajuddin Ahmed in the movie.
But on Thursday (February 18), it was reported that Riaz was playing the role of Tajuddin Ahmed, not Ferdous. Riaz has already returned to Dhaka to take part in the shooting of the film in Mumbai.
Mohammad Hossain Jamie, the line producer and producer of the Bangladesh part of the movie ‘Bangabandhu’ informed about the matter. He said, ‘Riaz is playing the role of Tajuddin Ahmed instead of Ferdous. He had gone to Mumbai a few days ago to take part in the shooting. He came back again. Go again a few times. Basically, he has to be come and go for the shooting. ‘
Earlier, Ferdous’s visa was revoked by the Indian government for campaigning for the Trinamool Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. It was reported at the time that the country’s home ministry had blacklisted him for this.
Apart from Arifin Shuvo as Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Nusrat Faria as Sheikh Hasina, Sabila Noor as Sheikh Rehana, Dilara Zaman and Toukir Ahmed will play the role of Bangabandhu’s mother Sheikh Saira Khatun and Hossen Shahid Sohrawardi. Besides, Fazlur Rahman Babu will play the role of Khandaker Mushtaq, Khairul Alam Sabuj will play the role of Bangabandhu’s father Lutfar Rahman, Shahidul Alam Sachchu will play the role of AK Fazlul Haque, and Raisul Islam Asad will play the role of Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani.
Tajuddin Ahmed was the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh and one of the leaders of the freedom struggle. During the war of liberation of Bangladesh in 1971, he performed the duties of the Prime Minister of the Government of Bangladesh with great efficiency and success. In the post-independence period, he served as the Finance Minister of Bangladesh till 1975. After the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family in 1975, he was imprisoned along with three other national leaders and kept in Dhaka Central Jail. There, on November 3, 1975, he was killed by a bullet while in captivity. He was a very honest and talented man in his personal life.
